Harvard-Yenching Library Travel Grant

The Harvard-Yenching Library awards several grants each year to help scholars travel to Cambridge to use our collections in their research.

The Harvard-Yenching Library Travel Grant Program aims to assist scholars from outside the Boston area in their use of our collections in their research.

In 2025, there will be ten grants of $2,000 each. Grants are awarded on a merit basis to non-tenured faculty members, dissertation-writing Ph.D. candidates (or ABDs), and independent scholars. Awards must be used by June 30, 2025.

Priority will be given to applicants from institutions with limited or no East Asian language library resources and without major East Asian library collections nearby.

Applications for the 2025 grants will open in mid December and must be submitted for consideration by January 31, 2025.
